Maureen moved into this loving home on the 17th of August 20th in Ranelagh. Marguerita Lilburn fitzSimons' mother was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion of "The Shamrock Rovers" a renowned Irish soccer squad. Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen excelled at sports and was a lover of rough play. In addition to this she was gifted for acting. In the end, she received almost all of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances in her home country. She was accepted at the Abbey Theater by age 14 as she pursued her dreams of operatic and classical singing and theater.
